It became official in 2018. For the second time a Robotic Parking Systems’ facility was awarded the Guinness World Record for the Largest Automated Parking Facility in the world – 2,314 spaces.
Robotic Parking Systems was contracted for the design, manufacture of the machinery and automation, installation, start up of operations and maintenance for a 2,314 space automated parking facility for the Al Jahra Court Complex in Kuwait. M A Kharafi was the general contractor on this project for Amiri Diwan of Kuwait – the office of the Amir of Kuwait.
This facility was designed as a combination of 684 concrete ramp parking spaces with 2314 automated spaces on top. The Robotic Parking System provides almost 3.5 times the number of parking spaces in approximately the same volume.
Robotic Parking Systems Inc., a Pinellas Park, Florida based company, announced the successful throughput testing of its recently completed 2,350 capacity Al Jahra Court Automatic Parking System in Kuwait. TÜV Nord certified a peak traffic throughput capacity of 425 cars per hour. Throughput capacity is the total number of cars per hour that can be handled in a combination of inbound and outbound vehicle traffic. Additionally, the average retrieval time for a single vehicle was verified as 177 seconds.
“The peak traffic throughput measurement is much more critical in the day to day operations of an automated garage than a single vehicle retrieval time. No other manufacturer in the automatic parking industry has this level of performance verification by an independent third party. We met and exceeded the contractual performance requirements of 400 cars per hour throughput and single retrieval time of 220 seconds,” said Royce Monteverdi, CEO of Robotic Parking Systems Inc.
With this record, Robotic Parking Systems has positioned itself not only as the largest automatic parking facility in the world but also as the manufacturer with the highest peak traffic capacity worldwide. The Al Jahra Court facility surpasses the Emirates Financial Tower garage in Dubai (designed and manufactured by Robotic Parking Systems) that achieved the Guinness World Record as the largest automatic garage with 1,200 parking spaces in 2011.

Mr. Ramasubbu holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and has worked for the company for eleven years. In his prior positions as Senior Mechanical Engineer and Technical Manager, Ramasubbu rapidly gained experience in all phases of the production and operation of Robotic Parking Systems’ automated parking garages. He was involved in the design and build of the 765 space and 1200 space parking facilities in Dubai as well as instrumental in the design, installation and start-up of the 2350 space facility in Kuwait. Ramasubbu also lead the team implementing the processes and procedures required to pass the rigorous audit for the company to be ISO 9001:2015 Certified for the Design and Installation of Robotic Parking Systems.
In his new role as Chief Operating Officer, Ramasubbu assumes responsibility for design, engineering, manufacturing, software development, installation, operations and quality control of the company’s acclaimed high-capacity automatic parking garages. Congressman Jolly represents Florida’s 13th Congressional District which covers Pinellas County where the company is located. As a member of the Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, he understands transportation issues and how more efficient and space-saving parking can assist urban development projects.
The St. Petersburg – Clearwater area in Pinellas County, Florida is a beautiful place to live and work. Its beaches, lakes, parks and trails make it ideal for outdoor activities.
One unique place is the Pinellas Trail which is a linear park and recreation trail extending 38.2 miles from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs, Florida. This multi-use trail is used by thousands every day for walking, jogging, skating and biking in a protected green space. Robotic Parking Systems volunteered to adopt a one mile stretch of the Pinellas Trail that our staff help to keep clean of trash and other debris. It’s very evident by the number of “thank you’s” that we receive that everyone who uses the trail appreciates the effort.
Robotic Parking Systems‘ robust, durable and safety-compliant industrial lifts transport cars from one level to another in our automated parking garage. We call these industrial lifts (composed of a deck, a drive and counterweights) Vertical Lift Conveyors (VLC) .
“These industrial lifts are a purely electromechanical design with long lasting chain drive and variable frequency drives that allow speed adjustments,” stated Royce Monteverdi, CEO. “They are also equipped with safety locks and other electronics that allow safe operation in a fully automated parking application,” he added.
Once the frames for VLC components are fabricated, they are primed and painted with high-quality, long-lasting industrial paints.
In early April 2014 we began issuing the purchase orders for the tens of thousands of components and materials required to build the machinery for the 2350 space robotic parking garage. Many of the parts have normal lead times of 4 to 6+ months. Fortunately, we have some great vendors who were able to expedite our orders to help us meet some very tight delivery deadlines.
While waiting for the mechanical and electrical parts to begin arriving, steel was ordered; and the fabrication teams began building the frames for the Robotic Parking System Vertical Lift Conveyor (VLC) machines and counterweights.
VLC machines are used to lift and lower cars from one level of the parking facility to another, similar to an elevator.
